2014 NSF & BLJ hunting trip (very pic heavy)
« on: April 29, 2014, 02:29:11 PM »
This year we didn't venture very far, staying within 75km of the city of Melbourne, Australia.  3 days of hunting had.

Day 1:  Warrandyte then to Toolangi, mostly seeking Cordyceps gunnii
Day 2:  Broadened the gunnii search radius then reverted to pines
Day 3:  Emerald lake search and then gunnii search in Sherbrooke Forest.

So here's a bunch of photos, I'll try and come back with IDs when I have a bit more time.

Nice pics.
Is it (51) really Armillaria mellea?
Any idea what 29 is?
Great job finding the Cordyceps.

51 is most likely Armillaria mellea...they will open up to be massive, see below.

29 was too immature to tell.  Potentially chicken of the woods I guess but not sure.

50.  Leccinum scabrum...

Hi there, accidentally came across your post and cannot believe my eyes!
Leccinum scabrum? Here, in Australia?
Can you provide the approx location of that beauty? Thanks!
