NSF agar 003 - milo, vegemite, deb
« on: April 25, 2012, 11:39:00 PM »
So i've bought dextrose (thanks to the tip off that brewers sugar is available at supermarkets) yet i haven't used it...

Agar recipe:

500ml of water that i blanched some snow peas in
2 tbs milo
1 tbs deb potato flakes
1 tsp vegemite

Bring to the boil and then add
3 tsp agar

Stir thoroughly whilst boiling

Allow to cool slightly and then pour plates.  I poured 28, let them cool and then put the lids on.  These will then be PCd in groups of 8 (+4) in small PP bags so hopefully some keep.

Although morchella often goes ballistic on agar it seemed to truly love this mixture.

Laetiporus sulphureus seemed to dislike it intensely.

Hypholoma sublateritium wasn't too fond either.

Lentinula edodes seemed quite happy.
